Breaking Town and Gown Barriers: Strengthening Communities through Public and Academic Library Collaboration In June 2022, the Library at Indiana University Southeast (IUS) and the Floyd County Library were awarded funding from the Caesar’s Foundation of Floyd County to support the creation and maintenance of a mini branch of the Floyd County Library at the IUS Library. This presentation will discuss the impetus for the idea, the Floyd County services and collections established and supported at the IUS Library, the staff training, and support involved in creating this partnership, what we’ve learned during the short time this partnership has existed, and potential ways to expand this exciting new collaboration. | Mitchell Scott, Indiana University Southeast Christopher Proctor, Indiana University Southeast Abby Johnson, The Floyd County Library

Let our Powers Combine! Introducing Acquisitions Staff to E-resource Access Troubleshooting In late 2021, two units within Indiana University Bloomington Libraries’ Acquisitions department joined forces to develop the “Helpdesk Expansion Project,” a pilot designed to test whether we could successfully relieve pressure on our E-Resources Acquisitions team while providing meaningful cross-training and professional development to our Serials Ordering team. The presenters will describe the challenges and successes of the pilot and share results from their 6-month assessment. The presentation will also include a discussion of how project management concepts were applied to develop a comprehensive project charter to guide the pilot. | Rivkah Cooke, Indiana University Bloomington Libraries Ruth Light, Indiana University Bloomington Libraries
Interlibrary Loan Copyright Practices in the State of Indiana In recent years, many academic libraries have begun to reconsider their reliance on the 1978 Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works (CONTU) guidelines as a way to track compliance with copyright law. This trend can be seen in recent white papers, conference presentations, and discussions on various lists used by resource sharing professionals. Meg Atwater-Singer will present the results of a survey conducted by the Resource Sharing Committee of the Academic Libraries of Indiana’s (ALI RSC) in April 2021 to determine what was the state of CONTU as a method of copyright adherence in Indiana, as compared to other guidelines or internally developed practices. | Meg Atwater-Singer, University of Evansville
